Historical Background of Profemme Twese Hamwe

In 1991, there were associations working for women promotion. They had been initiated for various specific reasons.

In 1992, 13 Rwandan Associations decided to combine their efforts and created the umbrella PRO-FEMMES/TWESE HAMWE. On 18th October 1992 it was publicly started and obtained its legal status in 2002.
