- A better understanding of gender concept and adoption of more positive attitudes and behaviours towards gender equality and equity ;
- Better respect of women’s rights ;
- Increased use of mosquito nets to pregnant women and children hence decreased number of malaria cases among those groups ;
- Better access to health care and services (in particular in cases of malaria and tuberculosis) following sensitisation and payment of mutuelles de santé to poor families ;
- More use of reproductive health services following sensitisation, quality services and affordable prices ;
- Adoption of more positive behaviours towards HIV/AIDS among youngsters, widows, married couples and prostitutes ;
- Decrease of undesired pregnancies among school teenagers in which gender and reproductive health clubs have been set up (Eastern and Western Provinces covered by UNFPA) ;
- Improvement of living conditions for people infected by HIV/AIDS ;
- Psycho-social rehabilitation of a large number of traumatised people ;
- Contribution to peaceful neighbourhood, unity and reconciliation among Rwandans ;
- Improvement of socioeconomic conditions of Rwandan families, in particular those headed by women ;
- Increase of girls’/women’s education rate ;
- Improvement of women’s image in media ;
- Better protection of environment through increased use of improved stoves which consume little fire wood, collection and efficient use of households waste ;
- Increased awareness of community members on their rights and duties, which makes it possible for them to participate actively in development.
