Prizes and awards granted to PROFEMME/TWESE HAMWE

MANDAJEET Singh Prize of UNESCO

This prize is awarded to institutions, organizations or persons who, through their activities, have promoted a spirit of tolerance and non-violence in the field of science, the arts, culture, education or communication. The Prize was created to mark the 125th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. Pro-Femmes/Twese Hamwe was the first recepient of this prize in 1995.

Women’s Rights Prize of the Peter Gruber Foundation

On July 1rst of 2003, Pro-Femmes/Twese Hamwe received of letter from the Peter Gruber Foundation annoncing that Pro-Femmes, along with Judge Navanethem Pillay, was awarded the inaugural Women’s Rights Prize . The prize was presented to Pro-Femmes during an award ceremony held on December 10, 2003
